Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing to ensure employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
- Administer payroll activities across multiple states while maintaining complete and organized payroll records.
- Manage payroll taxes, employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit-related payroll inputs with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and contribute to month-end close by validating payroll-related balances and entries.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements and apply updates to payroll practices as needed.
- Address employee questions related to pay, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Human Resources and Accounting to coordinate payroll data, reporting, and related compliance needs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll leadership or advanced payroll administration roles.
- Proven hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online Payroll.
- Practical experience processing payroll for employees in multiple states.
- Solid understanding of payroll tax rules, wage deductions, garnishments, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and solve payroll issues efficiently.
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently in a remote work environment.
Qualifications
- Payroll certification with a strong attention to detail is preferred.
