Payroll Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a Payroll Manager to report to the Sr. Payroll Manager, U.S. Payroll. This role will lead day-to-day payroll operations with a strong focus on U.S. multi-state payroll, tax compliance, labor laws, SOX requirements, and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Manage all payroll processes, including but not limited to one-time payments, garnishments, tax forms, direct deposit, bonuses, deductions, and year-end activities
- Configure and maintain time and absence systems
- Optimize payroll processing, participate in system upgrades, and lead payroll-related projects
- Lead and manage day-to-day payroll team activities while ensuring service excellence and compliance with corporate policies and SOX controls
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through performance management, goal setting, and career development
- Serve as a payroll subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional partners on payroll-related matters
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, tax laws, and multi-state payroll processing
- Proficiency with payroll systems and a strong understanding of integrations and automated payroll accounting processes; Workday experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manage payroll data effectively
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
- Prioritized ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Qualifications
- Experience in a U.S. multi-state manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience managing payroll within a U.S. multi-state manufacturing environment
Skills

Benefits
This position is Hybrid and candidates must live within commutable distance to our corporate headquarters in Andover, MA. Compensation and Benefits: Salary Pay Range: $93,000 - $155,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
