Payroll Manager
Position Summary
The Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for approximately 350+ employees. This role supports all aspects of payroll operations including salary, hourly, bonus, and equity-related compensation.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
- Process and review semi-monthly (salary) and bi-weekly (hourly) multi-state payrolls for approximately 320+ employees using payroll system (ex: ADP workforce now)
- Cook up and coordinate special payments (e.g. bonuses, equity, LOA)
- Cook up and review monthly/quarterly reporting to governmental agencies (federal and states) as required by law
- Support payroll processing related to equity compensation including stock awards, option exercises, and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) transactions
- Collaborate with HR to ensure the smooth execution of onboarding, offboarding and overall maintenance of employee compensation
- Support payroll audits and internal controls by maintaining accurate documentation and reconciliation of payroll transactions
- Administer the process of adding new employees, making changes to the master data for existing employees, and terminating employees in our payroll system (ADP)
- Generate and analyze payroll reports using ADP Workforce Now to support Finance, HR, and audit requirements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations including wage and hour laws, tax reporting, and payroll recordkeeping
- Aid in researching payroll issues, accruals and account reconciliations
- Aid in aspects around stock-based compensation, incl. our employee stock purchase plan
Qualification Requirements
- 5-7+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience processing multi-state payroll in high growth environments
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (Preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Understanding of equity compensation payroll taxation (RSUs, ESPP, stock options) preferred
- Exceptional mathematical and calculation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excell Skills (ex: Vlookup, SumIF’s and Pivots)
- Ability to partner with multi-disciplinary teams
- Knowledge of payroll, garnishments and benefits distribution
- Multitasking abilities
- Good research and analysis skills
Salary Range
$ 125,000 USD - $135,000 USD
