About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Implementation Specialist to assist the SVP of Payroll in implementing and integrating iSolved products to onboard new clients, either from an existing payroll system or their previous HCM. This role will collaborate with the Implementations team to ensure projects run on schedule and clients transition smoothly to Client Services.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of payroll experience in a complex environment (multiple pay groups and pay cycles) within a payroll service bureau (PSB).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a PSB, including roles such as Sales (B2B), Account Manager, Payroll Implementation/Conversion, or Payroll Client Services Specialist.
  • Strong influencing and closing skills.
  • American Payroll Association certification (FPC or CPP) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws.
  • Experience with at least two payroll/HCM systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Workday, Paychex, Ceridian); iSolved experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience handling mid-to-large size payrolls.
  • Implementation and project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll and time systems, production environments, and implementation practices.
  • Strong professional oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build cooperative relationships with all levels of management.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks, adjust to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling obligations.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state payroll taxes and legislation a plus.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Proficient in Windows-based applications (Microsoft Office Suite), advanced Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables), and data import/export.
  • Familiarity with internal systems (iSolved, Newtracker) and external systems (MasterTax).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Implementations team to ensure projects stay on schedule and management is informed of progress or outstanding tasks.
  • Attend implementation, Sales, and Payroll Team meetings as scheduled; participate verbally and in writing.
  • Engage with clients throughout implementation until they are successfully transitioned to Client Services.
  • Document the implementation process, update checklists and project plans, and maintain records in the Payroll Shared Drive.
  • Implement Newtek’s (iSolved) HCM full-service and/or standalone solutions following Newtek’s guidelines and client expectations.
  • Work with clients to streamline payroll processes and improve automation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the implementation team to determine resources required for client projects and identify areas for ongoing improvement.
  • Transition new clients to Client Services and provide detailed processing notes and training.
