Payroll Financial Operations & Audit Supervisor
About the role
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the CHR Corporate Human Resources division. It is responsible for leading and supervising the financial operations and recoveries team to ensure accurate, timely funding, general ledger, and reporting. The role oversees internal policies and control procedures, while fostering strong collaboration and clear communication with employees, managers, and the broader payroll organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensure financial and operational controls are followed when implementing system and process changes.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for report requests, including intake, tracking, prioritization, and timely delivery of requested reports.
- Prepare and process the general ledger, balancing accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage and support vendor payments.
- Cook up and process new report requests, working closely with internal teams to define requirements and validate outputs.
- Process and manage stop payment requests, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and system updates.
- Administer and oversee weekly tax funding, ensuring required amounts are calculated, funded, and recorded accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payroll, Tax, Finance, and external vendors, to resolve issues and support operational needs.
Requirements
The Payroll Financial Operations & Audit Supervisor is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing the Financial Operations & Recoveries team. They coach and mentor team members and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively. They lead by example and uphold the same expectations required of their employees. They ensure both their own and their staff’s tasks are completed accurately and on time, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or associate equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills
Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with payroll systems are also required.

Pay
