Payroll Consulting Specialist

Perform basic analysis, reporting, quarter-end and year-end audits, and research related to payroll processing. Occasionally work on special projects to flex critical and analytical thinking skills to help our clients achieve success. Deliver excellent customer service by responding to service requests, conducting basic client audits, participating in client calls, and completing basic level reporting on payroll activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic analysis, reporting, quarter-end and year-end audits related to payroll processing
• Work on special projects requiring critical and analytical thinking
• Respond to service requests and complete basic client audits
• Participate in client calls and complete basic level reporting on payroll activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent military experience OR 1-2 years of multi-corporation, multi-state payroll experience OR equivalent experience in customer service, payroll, human resources, benefits administration, financial institution, application support, or other relevant work experience
• A flexible schedule, as payroll processing days can be longer (especially during year-end, where overtime is mandatory)
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who can prioritize tasks and manage deadlines
• Critical thinking skills and enjoyment of problem-solving
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Comfort with change, adaptability, and quick recovery from adversity

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with HR, payroll technology, and payroll processes
• FPC or CPP certification
• Working knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, and wage and hour laws
