Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for multiple clients (weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly schedules)
- Serve as a primary payroll contact for assigned clients, providing responsive support and guidance
- Review and validate payroll data, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and benefits across clients
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws in multi-state environments
- Maintain accurate, organized payroll records for each client while ensuring strict confidentiality
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Collaborate with client HR, Finance, and benefits teams to ensure accurate employee data
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with internal/external audits
- Support year-end processing (W-2s, 1099s, tax filings) across multiple entities
- Identify opportunities to standardize and improve payroll processes across clients
- Assist with payroll system implementations, onboarding new clients, or process transitions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands on payroll experience required
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll tax compliance, and reporting requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines concurrently
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP WFN, ADP Run, Gusto, Rippling, or similar
- High attention to detail and strong organizational/time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus
