About the Role
Acts as a consultant and provides technical advice and support to the Payroll Department and other HR-related areas. This position is responsible for documenting and testing system changes, training HR Associates on timekeeping processes, and serving as a Workday super-user in Payroll and Benefits to troubleshoot system issues. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource for the department in answering questions, researching issues, and resolving problems related to Payroll and HRIS.
- Acts as a liaison between Human Resources and Information Technology Departments to provide systems support and leverage technology solutions for Payroll and Benefit Administration.
- Provides technical support and services to payroll and benefits administration as the technical expert.
- Manages the development and preparation of training materials and guides for Payroll and coordinates timekeeping training for associates.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or equivalent (required).
- Preferred: 7-9 years of experience in Human Resource Information Systems or Payroll information systems.
Skills
- Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for all levels of associates and management.
- Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
- Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, organize workflow, and maintain control.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare moderately complex written material, such as government regulations.
- Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations and analyses (e.g., college-level mathematics or statistics).
- Excellent technical knowledge of HRIS and Payroll systems.
- Creates, communicates, and applies performance development best practices.
Physical Demands
The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination.
- Light work: exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.
- Job functions are typically performed in general office or administrative work conditions with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
