Payroll Compliance Supervisor

About the role

The Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Payroll Compliance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct training for staff.
• Mentor, coach, and develop payroll compliance staff, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Reviews work papers of Associates and Senior Associates.
• Utilize advanced Excel and data analysis techniques to identify trends, exceptions, and potential reporting discrepancies.
• Manage multiple examinations and staff assignments while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, processes, and technology usage within the payroll compliance practice.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with employers, benefit fund representatives, administrators, and legal counsel.
• Conduct fieldwork at the employer’s location and/or remotely; which includes obtaining required documents; analyzing the information and communicating issues with the employer.
• Create final reports showing calculated contributions for the audit discrepancies.
• Confidently communicate with clients, fund administrators and fund attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in payroll compliance auditing, payroll administration, accounting, auditing, consulting, benefit fund administration, compliance functions, or related fields.
• Prior supervisory, project management, or team leadership experience preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
