Payroll Clerk III
About the role
Knowledgeable in all duties performed by Payroll Clerk I and II. Assists management in daily operations of Department and is responsible for the management of the department in management's absence. Responsible for various specific duties including processing of Payroll, quarterly reports, W-2's and tax account reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Aid other clerks with problems as they arise and serve as the expert on the payroll system and its capabilities.
- Audits weekly 40 hour exception reports, processes W-4s, PAFs and craft transfers, and runs standard system reports.
- Batches, processes and verifies labor time sheets and communicates with jobsite personnel to reduce errors.
- Completes weekly payroll processing cycle.
- Prepares correspondence to the field and maintains the Employee Master.
- Handles payroll activities for administrative personnel, including proper allocation, verification and distribution of W-2s and processes Quarterly and Annual Tax Reports and reconciliations to the General Ledger.
- Reviews integrity of reports and corrects history records.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years accounting experience, with a minimum of three years in Payroll.
- Some supervisory experience.
- Able to work extended hours on a regular basis.
- Excellent data entry skills & Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent and some entry level college accounting classes.
- Decision making capabilities and leadership qualities, detail oriented, capable of high volume output under stress.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Qualifications
