Payroll Clerk

We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to support accurate and timely payroll operations in New York. This position plays an important role in ensuring employees are paid correctly while maintaining reliable payroll records and responding to payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, works well across departments, and is comfortable managing reporting and compliance tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Administer weekly and biweekly payroll cycles for both union and non-union employees using Paycom, ensuring payments are completed on schedule. • Review and update employee payroll information to maintain complete, accurate, and current records. • Generate payroll reports and use system data to support routine processing, reconciliations, and decision-making. • Respond to questions from employees and field staff regarding pay, deductions, and payroll-related concerns in a timely and thorough manner. • Monitor payroll activity for compliance with wage regulations, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and garnishment requirements. • Partner with accounting, human resources, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and support smooth payroll administration. • Assist with internal and external payroll audits by preparing documentation and validating payroll data. • Help track payroll changes and identify issues that could affect accuracy, reporting, or regulatory compliance. • At least 5 years of payroll processing experience, including full-cycle payroll responsibilities. • Practical experience with Paycom is strongly preferred. • Background in construction payroll or work involving union payroll environments is highly valued. • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, deductions, taxes, and garnishments. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support office and field-based employees effectively. • High level of accuracy, strong organizational ability, and careful attention to detail. • Collaborative approach with a detail-oriented attitude and the ability to work well within a team environment.
