About the role

We are looking for a Payroll & People Operations Specialist to support our growing team and enhance the employee experience, ensuring our teams across the US and Canada are supported with accuracy and care. You will own the payroll lifecycle for ~130 talented individuals across North America, serving as our go-to expert for compliance, total rewards, and people analytics.

Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000/yearly

Location
While we operate with a high degree of trust and flexibility, the expectation for this role is to be present in our SoHo office three days per week. Candidates should live within a commutable distance to accommodate this schedule.

What you'll do

  • You’ll lead semi-monthly payroll across the US and Canada (ADP TotalSource, TriNet, and local agencies), ensuring every detail—from input of absence, bonus to GL mapping—is flawless.
  • Serve as superuser for BambooHR and ADP TotalSource. You’ll ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • You’ll navigate the complexities of FLSA classifications, I-9/E-Verify, and multi-state leave laws, keeping us ahead of the curve in a changing regulatory landscape.
  • You will transform raw numbers into a narrative. You will design and maintain People Analytics Dashboards that provide leadership with actionable insights on turnover, diversity metrics, and strategic workforce planning.
  • From benchmarking salary bands to managing 401(k) matches and Canadian T2220 forms, you’ll ensure our compensation and benefits remain competitive.

Who you are

  • You have 2+ years of hands-on experience (ideally with ADP TotalSource) and aren't afraid to dive deep into the settings.
  • You have a firm grasp of US labor laws (FLSA, FMLA) and feel comfortable navigating the nuances of international (Canadian) payroll.
  • Pivot tables and data reconciliation are second nature to you. You have a "zero-error" mindset when it comes to sensitive data.
  • You can take complex payroll or benefit terminology and explain it to an employee in a way that is supportive and easy to understand.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, international environments and enjoy partnering with Finance and HR teams to solve problems.

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
  • Experience with multi-state payroll.
  • Familiarity with PEO (Professional Employer Organization) models.

Culture

Acast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or any of the other wonderful characteristics that make us different.

Acast is a modern organization driven by strong values to create the best, most fulfilling and nurturing culture.
