About the role
The Payroll Analyst II position at Niagara is dedicated to providing accurate and efficient payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all payroll, tax, and benefit-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee full-cycle domestic payroll processing
- Calculate and prepare on-demand checks, payroll input, direct deposit, and local tax entity setup
- Reconcile time and attendance issues, handle garnishments, and verify employment status
- Log and track payroll issues using a third-party ticketing system
- Resolve payroll issues with internal and external vendors
- Follow through on all issues to successful resolution
- Maintain accurate internal records and comply with retention requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, laws, and regulations
- Participate in payroll/timekeeping system implementations, conversions, audits, and upgrades
- Contribute to year-end duties such as escheatment for unclaimed wages
- Participate in W2 reconciliations and audits
- Process tax amendments and ensure accurate filings
- Track open vendor cases pertaining to payroll
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a field or similar environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Payroll Analyst II position
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing projects
- Preferred 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment
- Preferred 4 years of experience in the Payroll Analyst II position
- Preferred 4 years of experience managing projects
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in any field
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Preferred Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
