Job Details
We are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our union and non-union workforce in a shared services environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage payroll operations for the US and Canada, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting.
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll department, with a strong focus on union environments and prevailing wage compliance.
- Working knowledge of US and Canadian Payroll compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP Software.
- Strong analytical ability to understand and interpret payroll data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
