Payroll Analyst
Location: Acton, MA (Hybrid) | Employment Type: Contract | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
About the Role
The Payroll Analyst will independently manage end-to-end biweekly, multi-state U.S. payroll for 3,000+ employees in Workday, while serving as backup support for payroll processing in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica. This role audits and reconciles payroll data, resolves discrepancies, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax and wage-hour requirements.
Responsibilities
- Process accurate, timely biweekly multi-state U.S. payroll for 3,000+ employees in Workday, start to finish
- Audit and reconcile payroll data — hours, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and tax withholdings — before and after transmission
- Research and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Serve as backup for payroll processing in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica
- Support year-end processes, including W-2 reconciliation and distribution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, multi-state payroll processing experience
- Proven, extensive experience with Workday Payroll required
- FPC or CPP certification preferred
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $40.00 – $46.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
