About the Opportunity

This role supports the payroll team within the Shared Services function in a remote capacity. The Payroll Administrator manages payroll processing, employee deductions, benefits-related audits, and payroll reporting across multiple entities. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations while coordinating with internal teams and third-party administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Track voluntary deductions for more than 1,200 employees.
  • Monitor W-2 healthcare costs associated with a self-insured insurance plan.
  • Manage missed deductions for employees on leave.
  • Coordinate with third-party benefit and 401(k) administrators.
  • Review third-party administrator reports for enrollments, terminations, and employee changes.
  • Update employee deductions in payroll systems and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Upload biweekly payroll deduction files to benefit and retirement plan administrators.
  • Reconcile insurance invoices and process payments.
  • Process employee garnishments.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end payroll reports.
  • Perform end-to-end payroll processing for two entities with approximately 250 employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of multi-state payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of state and local payroll laws.
  • Accounting experience is helpful.
  • Experience with ADP is preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
  • FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and macros.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work.

Pay

Salary range of $65,000 to $80,000, based on skills, experience, certifications, and location. Pay rate: $29.50 - $35.50 per hour. Compensation may vary by location based on differences in local labor costs.
