Immediately hiring payroll administrator to join the team!!
A bit about us: Founded in 1973, with roughly 80 employees family owned and operated for 50+ years. They are the largest steel fabricator and erector in Southern California, one of the largest on the West Coast!
Responsibilities
- Managing all payroll operations related to wages, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Preparing and distributing income statements, tax forms, and benefit enrolment forms.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries.
- Maintaining and updating payroll records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Processing off-cycle checks, levies, child support withholdings, and garnishments.
- Completing payroll tax filings, W-2 processing, and year-end filings.
- Managing timekeeping systems and coordinating with different departments for timekeeping data.
- Ensuring compliance with multi-state payroll requirements for gross to net calculations.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll administration role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Job costing and cost codes are not required but highly preferred
- Proficiency in payroll software, with a strong understanding of payroll tax laws, levies, garnishments, and withholdings.
- A strong understanding of 940/941 payroll tax filings, W-2 processing, and year-end filings.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing and knowledge of gross to net calculations.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
