About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support payroll and tax-related operations for a contract position. In this role, you will help establish employer payroll accounts, maintain accurate records, and assist with compliance reporting while working closely with internal partners to address questions and resolve issues. This opportunity is well suited for someone who can balance multiple priorities, protect confidential information, and contribute effectively in both independent and team-based work.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the setup of employer payroll accounts by preparing registration materials, securing required identification numbers, and submitting tax authorization documentation to the appropriate agencies.
- Keep participant and client records current within company systems, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and properly documented.
- Support quarterly payroll tax activities, including assistance with state unemployment filings and related reporting tasks.
- Prepare and provide 2014-7 tax letters for employees when requested, following program guidelines and timing requirements.
- Organize and maintain all required program documentation in accordance with internal standards and compliance expectations.
- Work collaboratively with payroll and cross-functional teams to research discrepancies, answer operational questions, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Contribute to additional administrative and payroll-related assignments as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- One to three years of administrative experience in an office environment that requires strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities at once, even in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling records, forms, and sensitive payroll information.
- Advanced proficiency with common office software, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms is preferred, including systems such as Paylocity and Microsoft Dynamics SL.
- Ability to stay organized, set priorities effectively, and handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing as a dependable member of a team.
- Basic knowledge of payroll taxes is preferred; experience in a home health setting would be an advantage.
