Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll activities to ensure employee compensation is processed correctly and delivered on schedule.
  • Review, audit, and update timekeeping records to confirm hours and pay data are complete and accurate before payroll submission.
  • Cook up with staff and managers across remote sites to gather payroll information, resolve discrepancies, and support timely approvals.
  • Administer employee pay updates, direct deposit changes, bonuses, commissions, and manual check requests with a high level of accuracy.
  • Process legally required deductions, including court-ordered withholdings, while meeting all applicable deadlines and compliance standards.
  • Investigate payroll issues, respond promptly to employee and leadership questions, and complete employment verification and unemployment-related requests.
  • Prepare year-end payroll documents, including W-2 reporting, and generate recurring payroll and HR reports using Excel and internal systems.
  • Submit payroll-related funding requests for benefit and deduction remittances, and support driver payment processing, charge entry, edit reporting, and final report reconciliation.
  • Contribute to additional departmental assignments as needed to support payroll and related administrative operations.

Requirements

  • Experience managing full-cycle payroll in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and related compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with time and attendance systems and payroll data validation procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee and compensation information with strict confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and correct payroll discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort preparing scheduled payroll and HR reports.
  • Experience supporting union payroll is preferred.
