About the role

As a Payroll Administrator, you will carry out our Mission of Love by preparing bi-weekly payroll and associated functions for all entities.

Responsibilities

  • Process and calculate payroll, including wages, taxes, benefits, garnishments, direct deposits, and other employee deductions in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Maintain and validate payroll records and system data, including new hires, terminations, deductions, direct deposit information, and payroll master files to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Execute payroll disbursements and related payments, including employee direct deposits, manual checks, tax deposits, garnishments, retirement contributions, and other payroll-related obligations.
  • Review, audit, reconcile, and validate payroll and timekeeping data from multiple systems (Workday, UKG/Kronos, WellSky, HR) to ensure accuracy, policy compliance, and proper accounting.
  • Administer payroll adjustments, leave and disability pay processes, benefit eligibility reviews, alternate pay rates, annual rate increases, and other specialized payroll transactions.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll issues, employee pay inquiries, wage verifications, and payroll policy questions for employees, managers, supervisors, and external agencies.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain payroll reports, W-2s, resident gift checks, audit documentation, tax reports, cost reports, and other payroll-related records and communications.
  • Support payroll system administration by testing, troubleshooting, and implementing upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and regulatory changes within UKG/Kronos and Workday.
  • Train supervisors, managers, and timekeepers on payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and company pay policies while supporting departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Provide backup leadership for payroll operations, assist with tax reporting and reconciliations, participate in payroll-related continuing education, and support special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years' experience.
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
  • Experience with electronic time and attendance required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local Tax Regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include spreadsheet development and data analysis functionalities.
  • Efficient management of digital files and databases.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaborative tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint) preferred.
