Job Responsibilities

  • Administers full cycle payroll processing, from time entry through payroll staging and post payroll processing for weekly payroll cycles.
  • Produce payments for PRAs, travel expenses, paid time off, and shortages.
  • Achieve timely resolution of employee payroll issues including paycheck issues, distribution, and employee questions.
  • Build ongoing internal and external client service relationships for all payroll related matters.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports, exports and imports data, and processes override deductions.
  • Remains knowledgeable of current and changing laws and regulations affecting local, state and overall U.S. payroll administration.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of all Company plans, programs, and benefits as they relate to payroll administration.
  • Aids in the completion of 940/941 quarterly tax reports and state unemployment tax reporting, as well as weekly federal tax deposits.
  • Performs special projects and assignments as required.
  • Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports and other documentation as required per contract specifications.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field of study, or high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of payroll administration experience. Relevant industry experience in commercial, residential and multifamily construction preferred.
  • Hands on experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One a plus.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll job requirements and reporting preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FLSA, and DOL/IRS guidelines and regulations. As well as other payroll laws/regulations and ability to interpret and apply those to ongoing payroll administration efforts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.

Skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must have excellent Excel skills.
  • Must have excellent math skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use independent judgement with discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team work orientation to address any issues, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate directly with all levels of the organization.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
  • Must be willing to learn and train with multiple team members.
  • Knowledge of construction certified payroll

Working Conditions

  • Able to perform work indoors in an office environment.
  • Able to work in an office environment with moderate pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work overtime to meet established deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to communicate orally and write in a clear manner.
  • Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing and reviewing documents and spreadsheets.
  • Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner and calculator.
