Payments Senior SA, GFS - Payments Market Development

We are seeking a Payments industry senior solution architect to join the AWS Worldwide Financial Services team. This role focuses on accelerating AWS adoption in the consumer and institutional payments space, working with C-level and line of business executives to drive cloud computing technology adoption.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the Worldwide Payments team, driving AWS marketing, sales, and technical strategies for the payments industry.
• Coach sales teams on AWS services relevant to payments customers.
• Understand the unique technical requirements of payments and banking customers, guiding internal teams on AWS service adoption for complex customers.
• Work directly with customers to accelerate business outcomes, recommending best-practice cloud architectures aligned with long-term needs.
• Drive technical solution discussions, solving complex challenges and crafting scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Scope and own customer engagements with clear objectives and success criteria.
• Work backward from customer business needs to accelerate adoption of appropriate AWS technology.
• Define and execute strategy by engaging highly technical teams (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants, and partners).

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
• Experience managing relationships with SAP customers and partners.
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud ERP, and Cloud ERP Private.
• Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative/Agentic AI and data & analytics.

Pay

Base salary range: $169,000 - $228,600 USD annually (location: USA, NY, New York). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
