Payment Posting Team Lead

Core Responsibilities

• Support the daily activities of the payment posting team
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of electronic remittance advice (ERA), electronic funds transfers (EFT), checks, credit card payments, and patient payments
• Review and reconcile daily deposits with posted transactions
• Investigate and resolve payment posting discrepancies, unapplied cash, and balancing issues
• Monitor work queues to ensure productivity and turnaround time goals are achieved
• Perform quality assurance audits and provide coaching to team members on posting accuracy
• Identify trends related to posting errors, payer issues, or system problems and recommend process improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve payment-related issues
• Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new posting staff
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and departmental documentation
• Generate productivity, accuracy, and aging reports for management review
• Escalate complex payment issues and system concerns to management as appropriate
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer regulations, and company policies

Experience And Skills

• Strong understanding of medical billing, payment posting, EOBs, ERAs, EFTs, and revenue cycle processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Education And Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3–5 years of medical payment posting experience
• At least 1–2 years of leadership or team lead experience preferred

Pay

$65,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
