How You’ll Make an Impact
You will support accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery across North America manufacturing and non-manufacturing populations. In this role, you will support a complex, multi-state payroll environment transitioning toward increased in-house ownership and process maturity. You will partner closely with Human Resources, managers, and our third-party provider to deliver high-quality employee support, strong controls, and continuous improvement.
- Perform payroll validation, audit checks, and issue resolution prior to payroll close, including off-cycle payroll activities.
- Administer time and attendance processes by maintaining, reviewing, validating, and troubleshooting timekeeping data.
- Partner with managers to drive timely and accurate timecard submission and approvals and resolve discrepancies related to hours, leave, and overtime.
- Provide customer-focused support to employees and managers by resolving payroll and timekeeping inquiries and escalating complex issues as needed.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Serve as a primary back-up for North America payroll processing cycles, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, year-end processing, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related programs.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives, documentation, training, and system enhancements across payroll and timekeeping platforms.
- Process special pay and complex transactions, including gross-up calculations and adjustments for terminated employees.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- At least 5 years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment; time and attendance experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting end-to-end payroll processing cycles, including data validation, audits, and issue resolution.
- Hands-on experience with timekeeping systems and Human Resources Information Systems, such as ADP platforms, eTime, or SAP Human Capital Management.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour compliance requirements.
- Experience working with a third-party payroll provider, with ADP experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a customer service mindset and high degree of professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or actively pursuing either certification.
