Paving Technician

Responsibilities

• Heavy physical duties involving asphalt milling and paving tasks.
• Variety of tasks including shoveling, raking, luting, jack hammering, heavy lifting, and using small tools.
• Overnight stays may be required on occasion.
• Night and weekend work shifts are common during the milling and paving season.
• Cleans tools, materials, and work areas.
• Performs tasks with fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
• Communicates with crew members to ensure safety, teamwork, and goal completion.
• May specialize within a crew as a Screed Person, Lute person, QC Tech, Side Person (mill), Tack Truck Driver, Water Truck Driver, or Utility adjustment person.

Qualifications

• GED/HS Diploma is a plus.
• Trade School is a plus.
• PennDOT Paving QC Technical experience is a plus.
• TopCon or similar grade control experience is a plus.
• CDL (A, B, Tanker, Hazmat) is a plus.
• Tack Truck experience is a plus.
• Two years of related work experience is a necessity.
• Active, valid Driver’s License required.
• Good Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
