Responsibilities
- Perform heavy physical duties involving a variety of semi-skilled or skilled tasks associated with asphalt milling and paving, with duties varying by crew assignment.
- Specialize within a crew as a Screed Person, Lute Person, QC Tech, Side Person (mill), Tack Truck Driver, Water Truck Driver, or Utility Adjustment Person.
- Perform tasks such as shoveling, raking, luting, jack hammering, heavy lifting, and using multiple small tools related to asphalt milling and paving.
- Clean tools, materials, and work areas.
- Execute manual tasks requiring fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
- Work safely and communicate clearly with crew members to ensure teamwork and completion of daily goals.
- Depending on crew specialty, perform diverse tasks such as using hand and power tools, performing grade checks, directing equipment operations, and managing cuts and fills.
- Comply with all company policies, with a strong emphasis on safety ("Home Safe Tonight" and related policies).
Requirements
- Extensive and heavy physical activity, including dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Ability to carry heavy loads up to 75 pounds.
- Capability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, climb, or balance for extended periods.
- Specific vision requirements: close, color, and peripheral vision.
- Work in varying conditions, including rough graded and undeveloped job sites, tight confined spaces, and near live traffic.
- Work around heavy equipment, loud noises, and vibrations from equipment and power tools.
- Active, valid Driver’s License with a good Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma (preferred).
- Trade School experience (preferred).
- PennDOT Paving QC Technical experience (preferred).
- TopCon or similar grade control experience (preferred).
- CDL (Class A, B, Tanker, Hazmat) (preferred).
- Tack Truck experience (preferred).

Pay
Hourly range: $23.00 - $25.00, based on experience.
Schedule
- Overnight stays may be required on occasion.
- Night and weekend work shifts are common during the milling and paving season.
