Paver Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, and milling machines.
• Ensure safe operation and non-mechanical maintenance of equipment.
• Determine the best methods for completing assigned tasks safely, productively, and on time.
• Communicate effectively with other crew members to achieve daily goals.

Qualifications

• A GED or High School Diploma is preferred.
• Two years of equipment operating experience is required.
• Related work experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Make judgments about the most efficient operations of equipment and attachments.
• Show very good hand, foot, and eye coordination to safely operate equipment.
• Comply with Allan Myers policies regarding equipment repair/maintenance procedures and operator safety standards.
• Comply with “Home Safe Tonight” and related policies.
• Comply with AIPS Physical Demands.

Work Environment

• Responsible for the safety of self and fellow workers.
• Work conditions vary based on the job site and weather.
• Rough grading and undeveloped job sites pose safety risks.
• Works adjacent to live traffic on most days.
• Night and weekend shifts are common during the milling and paving season.
