Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under variable weather conditions.
• Operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for the maintenance and repair of roads and rights-of-way.
• Establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, the public, vendors, and outside agencies.
• Respond to emergency situations such as snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, and traffic accidents at any time.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement within six (6) months of hire (Class A CDL highly preferred upon hire).
• Work experience in maintenance and repair of roads and the operation of a variety of trucks and equipment is desirable.
• Possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the essential job functions as listed in the Patrol Worker ADA Essential Functions Worksheet. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Prior to hiring, the final candidate is required to pass work/education/certification reference(s), a criminal background and driver's license check, and a Physical Exam consisting of a hearing test, physical, DOT Drug Test, musculoskeletal evaluation, and TB Assessment.

Schedule

• Summer Hours: 0600 to 1600 (four (4) ten (10) hour days).
• Winter Hours: 0700 to 1500 (five (5) eight (8) hour days, Monday–Friday).

A Patrol Worker may be called upon at any time to respond to emergency situations.

Pay

Salary range: $27.49 - $38.19 per hour.
