Patriot Ground Product Quality Lead - onsite Andover or Tewksbury, MA

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a U.S. government-issued security clearance. An active and existing DoD Secret clearance is required after day one.

About the role

As the Patriot Program Quality Lead (PQL) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), you will support the Patriot Product Line (PPL) Quality team focused on Software and Training Devices at our Andover and Tewksbury, MA locations. This on-site position partners with quality representatives across functional organizations such as Systems Engineering & Integration and Test, Software Engineering, and others to ensure process assurance, quality risk management, defect management, continuous improvement, quality financial and status reporting, and cost savings initiatives for Patriot Software & Training Devices.

You will proactively engage with the product line, collaborating with Program Leadership, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and the Quality team to ensure effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements. This role occasionally interfaces with U.S. Government Customers, Global Customers, and Suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Interface with program quality teams, programs, suppliers, customers, and Integrated Product Teams to support technical, quality, and financial performance, ensuring compliance with Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
• Establish effective relationships with external and internal customers and key partners.
• Manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders to drive solutions and resolve quality-related issues.
• Define problem statements, explain impacts, draft plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive solutions with a self-starting approach.
• Ensure the quality of delivered products and services, manage quality risks, and resolve customer expectations related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
• Improve processes or systems using conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation skills to address numerous and undefined problems.
• Report to leadership teams on testing and field issues, investigations, status, and metrics.
• Monitor and lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities for systemic issues.
• Identify when RCCA activities are warranted and ensure their thorough execution.
• Assure inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and manage the quality budget.
• Generate new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce program costs.
• Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) as applicable.
• Lead financial analysis initiatives supporting program predictability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of engineering and quality experience.
• Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience providing technical program support on teams that develop software/firmware.
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and continuous improvement.
• Strong quality mindset, ability to self-start, and proficient communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and collaborate across multiple functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active U.S. government security clearance.
• Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certification.
• Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
• Experience in functional areas such as engineering, supply chain, or operations.
• Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers.
• Hands-on experience solving both business and technical problems.
• Proven team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement.
• Experience with contract flow and compliance.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 - $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
