Patient Transporter
Responsibilities
- Aids healthcare professionals as needed in the assigned work area.
- Maintains cleanliness and functionality of medical equipment necessary for patient transport.
- Reports any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Procures, processes, and delivers equipment, supplies, nourishments, and other resources to the assigned area on a routine basis and during emergencies.
- Transports patients (ranging from stable to highly complex with special equipment needs) to other nursing units, diagnostic and treatment areas, and for discharge from the hospital.
Requirements
- No prior experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
Qualifications
- None required for education.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and the ability to write simple correspondence.
