About the role
The Patient Support Representative (PSR) receives incoming phone calls for clinic appointments from patients, nursing staff, and physicians. Responsible for the complete and accurate processing of appointment scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, and pre-authorization.
Responsibilities
- Process appointment scheduling and pre-registration
- Verify and obtain necessary insurance information
- Obtain and process pre-authorization for medical services
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- 1 year healthcare experience and/or 1 year customer service experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Above Average Verbal and Written communication
- Proficient with computers and related applications
- Must possess the following skills: Above Average Verbal and Written communication, Medical Terminology, MS Word, MS Excel
Physical requirements
- Standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
- Performing repetitive tasks
- Working with challenging patients and clients
- Lifting up to 25 pounds
