Patient Sitter Non Certified - Sitter Pool

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds to monitor assigned patients within the hospital.
• Assists with meals and alerts staff to patients' needs.
• Provides sitter services for patients with orders for 1:1 staffing.
• Ensures patients are in a safe environment at all times.
• Reports to nurse or charge nurse if the patient tries to get out of bed, pulls on tubes, or displays harmful behavior.
• May provide assistance with direct patient care under the direction of a licensed professional.
• Affords assistance with patient care tasks such as turning, feeding, bathing, and bathroom needs.
• Maintains visual contact with the patient at all times, including during toileting.
• Communicates with the patient care team regarding patient's condition and plan of care.
• Accompanies the patient while off the floor for procedures and does not take the patient to smoke, the cafeteria, or the gift shop.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• BLS Certification
• PRN Work Schedule
• Per Diem or As Needed Work Type
