About the role
Nemours is seeking a Patient Services Specialist II (Primary Care, Oviedo) to join their Primary Care team in Oviedo, Florida.
Responsibilities
- Answer phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner, triaging calls and handling them appropriately.
- Collect, maintain, and ensure accuracy of information through the use of standard business practices during registration and scheduling processes.
- Coordinate all necessary paperwork for registration, scheduling, and appointment management.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances on accounts, performing end-of-day balancing as needed.
- Schedule office visits, manage no-show and cancellation processes, confirm appointments with patients/guardians, and prepare charts with appropriate paperwork for the physician visit.
- Triage and manage electronic communication daily, scanning all new paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or placing it in the patient chart.
- Scan incoming mailed and faxed patient results into the EMR and assign them to the appropriate physician for review.
- Check in and check out patients in the office, ensuring smooth patient flow.
- Coordinate the release of information and medical records, processing all incoming and outgoing requests.
- Ensure coding information is complete on billing documents as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Specialized training beyond high school, with a minimum of one to three years of experience preferred.
- Customer Service and Healthcare experience preferred.
- Medical Office/Call Center experience preferred.
- Travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage is required.
