About the role

Nemours is seeking a Patient Services Specialist II (Primary Care, Palm Bay) to join our Primary Care team in Palm Bay, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • To perform as a customer service representative for assigned divisions accurately obtaining and entering all essential information needed to complete registration and scheduling processes following standard business practices.
    • Answer phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner, triage calls and handle appropriately.
    • Provide service to internal and external customers as a member of the clinic team.
    • Coordinate all necessary paperwork for registration, scheduling, and appointment.
    • Collect, verify and maintain patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals.
    • Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and balances on accounts. End of day balancing.
    • Schedule visits, manage no-show and cancellation process, confirm appointments with patient/guardian.
    • Prepare charts with the appropriate paperwork for the physician visit.
    • Communicate with patients and providers via electronic means, scan new paperwork into EMR or place in patient chart, scan incoming patient results into EMR and task the physician responsible for reviewing, check in and checkout patients in office.
    • Cover other locations as needed for coverage.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Specialized training beyond high school (1 year).
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience preferred.
  • Customer Service and Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Medical Office/Call Center experience preferred.
  • Travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage is required.
