About the role

Join our team to support the emotional well-being of all, especially those who are most vulnerable. Patient Service Specialists are responsible and accountable for the coordination of information and support needed for the flow of patients at our clinics. As a patient-facing caregiver, you’ll provide customer service, helping patients through processes like check-in, registration, billing/financial aide and insurance. Patient Service Specialists work in conjunction with our clinical teams to assist with scheduling, clinic operations and more.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all core front-office functions with increased independence and efficiency.
  • Perform all aspects of the Associate PSS, including patient registration, appointment scheduling for routine and basic healthcare services, and general clerical duties.
  • Assist with scheduling, clinic operations, and other administrative tasks.
  • Support the clinical teams by providing patient care and information.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient information is maintained and communicated.

Requirements

  • 1 year - Medical office or related healthcare experience or, 6 months - Experience as a Providence employee in an Associate PSS position.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Schedule

This role is full-time and works a standard 40-hour week.
