About the role
Having one point of connection for our patients, ensures our patients are directed to the right party when they call our office. As a Patient Services Specialist, you will have the opportunity to be a kind and helpful voice on the phone for our patients needing to schedule an appointment, speak with a nurse, and/or direct to the billing department with questions.
Responsibilities
- Take incoming calls, gather information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance, and their situation.
- Help match patients with either a referred provider or the first available provider for their particular issue.
- Work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a call center environment and/or medical office is a plus.
- This is a full-time (Monday - Friday, 8a-5p) opportunity located on the second floor of our West Des Moines office.
- Remote opportunity available after training and meeting metrics of position.
Qualifications
- Communication skills, including clear and professional communication, active listening, and avoiding interruptions.
- Experience working with individuals from various backgrounds to provide necessary assistance and information.
- Calm demeanor to provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, taking in information, researching, organizing thoughts, and assisting patients promptly.

Pay
The pay for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 8a-5p, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after training and meeting metrics of the position.
