About the role

Having one point of connection for our patients, ensures our patients are directed to the right party when they call our office. As a Patient Services Specialist, you will have the opportunity to be a kind and helpful voice on the phone for our patients needing to schedule an appointment, speak with a nurse, and/or direct to the billing department with questions.

Responsibilities

  • Take incoming calls, gather information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance, and their situation.
  • Help match patients with either a referred provider or the first available provider for their particular issue.
  • Work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a call center environment and/or medical office is a plus.
  • This is a full-time (Monday - Friday, 8a-5p) opportunity located on the second floor of our West Des Moines office.
  • Remote opportunity available after training and meeting metrics of position.

Qualifications

  • Communication skills, including clear and professional communication, active listening, and avoiding interruptions.
  • Experience working with individuals from various backgrounds to provide necessary assistance and information.
  • Calm demeanor to provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, taking in information, researching, organizing thoughts, and assisting patients promptly.

Skills

The pay for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.
