About the role

Greet patients as they arrive and leave our clinic in a friendly manner. The Front Desk/Receptionist maintains a smooth flow of communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff while handling scheduling, registration, and billing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Accurately enter, update, and verify insurance information and patient demographics using several medical computer programs.
  • Complete patient registration by reviewing accounts and compliance-related documents for completeness and accuracy; obtain and document missing information.
  • Prepare paperwork for patient visits.
  • Verify patient benefits and eligibility when needed.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance as required.
  • Respond to questions regarding account status, payment arrangements, and concerns; resolve billing or charge disputes or escalate to the appropriate individual.
  • Monitor patient flow, adjust workflows, and notify clinical staff of pertinent information and changes.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, guests, back office staff, and providers.
  • Reconcile cash against daily charge and cash reports.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments as needed.
  • Create, distribute, and file new patient charts and medical records.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as copying, sorting, scanning, and faxing.
  • Properly check out patients, including collecting co-pays, past due balances, and fees; ensure completion of all forms and update medical records.
  • Keep the front desk area and waiting room clean, tidy, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, including standard operating procedures and the employee handbook.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire for telephone operator or high call volume experience (entry-level considered).

Schedule

Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays (a day off during the week is provided for each Saturday worked).
