About the role
The Department 13320 Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Wake Forest NC Main Campus Arrival Emergency Department is seeking a part-time night shift Patient Services Representative (PSR).
Responsibilities
- Greets patients arriving for their appointments.
- Maintains patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
- Completes the registration process for walk-in patients, verifying and updating patient information.
- Verifies and updates insurance information, collects financial liability, and obtains authorization as needed.
- Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers them to a Financial Counselor.
- Performs visit closure, including checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing necessary documents.
- Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements and guidelines.
- Communicates issues related to customer service and process improvements to management.
- Maintains high accuracy rates and productivity levels.
- Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Works collaboratively with others to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Patient access (scheduling, registration, and financial clearance) experience preferred.
- Certified medical assistant experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to identify and understand issues and problems.
- Knowledge and ability to articulate explanations of Medicare, HIPAA, and EMTALA rules and regulations.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Proactive communication skills.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers and colleagues.
- Positive interaction with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay
$20.80 - $31.20 per hour
Schedule
Part time nights: 10:30p-7a
Work schedule: Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday/ Week 2: Monday, Saturday
