About the role

The Department 13320 Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Wake Forest NC Main Campus Arrival Emergency Department is seeking a part-time night shift Patient Services Representative.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients arriving for their appointments.
  • Maintains patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care.
  • Completes the registration process on walk-in patients, verifying and updating patient information.
  • Verifies and updates insurance information, calculates and collects patient financial liability.
  • Ensures compliance with financial clearance policies and refers patients needing financial assistance to a Financial Counselor.
  • Performs visit closure, including checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing patients with necessary documents.
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements and guidelines, and proactively communicates issues to management.
  • Maintains high accuracy rates and productivity levels to provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff, demonstrating a collaborative approach.
  • Identifies and addresses customer service and process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Patient access (scheduling, registration, and financial clearance) experience preferred.
  • Certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify and understand issues and problems.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to speak effectively and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Experience with ADT software.

Pay

$20.80 - $31.20 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time nights: 10:30p-7a. Work schedule: Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday; Week 2: Monday, Saturday.
