About the role

This is a multi-faceted position consisting of customer service, insurance verification, registration, payment collection, data entry, and referrals. You will ensure patient flow, medical record availability and completeness, schedule physician/provider appointments, and maintain physician appointment schedules. You will greet patients and visitors, ascertain their needs, and assist them in a timely and courteous manner. You will answer telephones promptly in a customer-friendly way, collect and verify accurate patient information, enter it into the registration system, receive payments for services, and correctly complete charge slips for data entry. As a team player, you will perform all duties as required or assigned to provide quality patient care and uphold the policies and procedures of Hillcrest Healthcare System.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth patient flow and medical record availability and completeness
• Schedule physician and provider appointments
• Maintain physician appointment schedules
• Greet patients and visitors, ascertaining their needs and assisting them promptly
• Answer telephones in a customer-friendly manner
• Collect and verify accurate patient information and enter it into the registration system
• Receive payments for services and complete charge slips for data entry
• Perform all duties as required or assigned to support quality patient care
• Uphold the policies and procedures of Hillcrest Healthcare System

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer knowledge
• Basic understanding of insurance, referrals, and medical records

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience
• Previous medical office experience
