Job Summary
The Patient Services Manager will lead food and nutrition patient services within a hospital setting. This role oversees daily operations for a 200 bed facility ensuring high-quality service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while maintaining strong patient satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage patient dining services based on medical directives and patient population needs
- Hire, train, coach, and develop patient services team members
- Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions, special diets, and patient food preferences within clinical guidelines
- Drive patient satisfaction initiatives and ensure service excellence standards are met
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations, including HIPAA and patient rights policies
- Participate in and/or lead patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
Qualifications
- Required: Healthcare experience in patient services, food & nutrition (hospital experience strongly preferred)
- Minimum 1+ year of leadership or management experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Service, or related field preferred
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Registered Diet Technician (DTR), or Registered Dietitian (RD) strongly preferred
- ServSafe® certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, and diet office systems
- Strong computer skills, including email and internet applications
