About the role

Morrison Healthcare is hiring Patient Services Lead positions at Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson. The role is full-time and requires prior patient service experience. Perks include free uniform, free parking, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee systems and processes to ensure strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program are accomplished.
  • Supervise Patient Dining Associates and ensure they provide services including helping patients make menu selections, assemble, and deliver/pick-up their meal trays.
  • Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or additional selections.
  • Interact with nursing and evaluate daily patient meal selection, tray completion, tray delivery, and tray retrieval process.
  • Be responsive to patients' needs at all times, communicating problems or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist dietitians, such as helping monitor patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets, or have a specific calorie count to manage.
  • Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy, as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO guidelines.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for meal assembly and distribution.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily associate team meetings following Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Able to communicate and read documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation and maintenance instructions.
  • Aptitude for effectively operating hospital’s admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) system, and other computer-based systems managing patient care records.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.
