Patient Services Coordinator - RCM
PromptCare is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our Patient Services Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in specialty infusion benefit verifications and medication authorizations, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
About the role
This position entails creating EMR notes, submitting electronic faxes, following up on and logging recertification documentation from physician offices via CPR+ or Caretend software, and ensuring timely communication with patients, physician offices, and the sales team regarding authorization requests assigned to payers.
Responsibilities
- Benefit verification for insurance changes, therapy changes, and dose changes
- New and re-authorizations under new insurance plans for insurance changes
- New and re-authorizations for drug or dose changes under existing plans
- Update payor information and bin numbers in CPR+/Caretend
- Update existing orders to reflect the correct payor in CPR+/Caretend
- Monthly verifications
- Manage internal email communication to and from other departments
- Attend to urgent or same-day requests
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field or business preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, management, patients, and physician offices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; CPR+ and/or Caretend experience preferred
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and quality
- Ability to identify and address problem accounts
- Previous experience with infusion therapy patients is highly desirable
- Prior experience with prior authorizations, specialty medications, or third-party payers preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, payer portals, and data entry systems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Infusion or DME background is preferred
- Clinical, medical office administrative, or related experience preferred

Pay
$24 - $26 hourly
Schedule
Hybrid: 2 days in the office (New Providence, NJ) and 3 days remote
