Patient Services Coordinator III - Family Medicine

About the Role

This is a front desk, patient-facing role in a busy, fast-paced office environment. Novant is seeking someone who is comfortable managing a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service. Cross-training in multiple administrative support functions is required.

• Timely and accurate recording of patient demographics and insurance information
• Posting patient charges and collections
• Scheduling patient appointments in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• One year of clerical experience in a medical office setting, required (other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience)

Skills

Required:

• Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with changing priorities
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to function as part of a team
• Initiative and self-motivation
• Basic medical terminology (knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience)
• High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems
• Detailed knowledge of multiple payors' billing requirements
• Familiarity with coding requirements for practice specialty

Preferred:

• Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice
