Patient Experience

The Patient Service Associate will provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and callers. They will oversee the safe, efficient, and comfortable atmosphere of the reception area, greet patients and other visitors, assist them as appropriate, review schedules daily to ensure accuracy, and fill appointment opportunities.

To schedule and reschedule appointments in accordance with CHC scheduling guidelines, they will collect, verify, update, and document patient demographics, insurance information, and forms. They will also reconcile patient visits daily, verify active insurance coverage and status, and update information as necessary. They will collect patient payments, balances, and copays, assist patients with payment plans/sliding fee applications, and ensure applications are up-to-date.

The Patient Service Associate will complete end-of-day reporting and ensure records balance. They will answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls, document as needed in the electronic health record (EHR) system, and ensure forms are completed and accurate, including assisting patients in completing forms and scanning into the EHR according to CHC indexing protocols.

HIPAA compliance is essential, and they must consistently ensure and maintain patient confidentiality. They will also escalate concerns to site leads/Operations Manager and offer suggestions for improvement.

Supporting Manager

The Patient Service Associate will support the manager in monitoring inventory of supplies for the office and meet and exceed assigned individual and departmental goals. They will also perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree, medical office or medical assistant degree required
  • Bilingual skills, Spanish speaking, Required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Healthcare experience in Medical, Dental, or Behavioral Health preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Hours will vary; our schedules range Monday-Friday from 7am-7pm and Saturdays. Minimal physical effort. Must be able to operate computer and telephone continuously. Regular regional travel as necessary.
