Patient Experience
The Patient Service Associate will provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and callers. They will oversee the safe, efficient, and comfortable atmosphere of the reception area, greet patients and other visitors, assist them as appropriate, review schedules daily to ensure accuracy, and fill appointment opportunities.
Phone Operations
Oversee the phone system, answering, screening, and directing incoming calls. Document as needed in the electronic health record (EHR) system, following CHC guidelines. Ensure forms are completed and accurate, including assisting patients in completing forms and scanning into the EHR according to CHC indexing protocols. Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
Administrative Duties
- Collect, verify, update, and document patient demographics, insurance information, and forms.
- Reconcile patient visits daily.
- Verify active insurance coverage and status, updating information as necessary.
- Cole collect patient payments, balances, and copays.
- Absorb patient payment plans and sliding fee applications, ensuring applications are up-to-date.
- Complete end-of-day reporting and ensure records balance.
Other Duties
- Escalate concerns to site leads/Operations Manager and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Support the manager in monitoring inventory of supplies for the office.
- Meet and exceed assigned individual and departmental goals.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates degree, medical office or medical assistant degree required.
- Bilingual skills, Spanish speaking, Required.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to multitask.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Healthcare experience in Medical, Dental, or Behavioral Health preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Hours will vary; schedules range Monday-Friday from 7am-7pm and Saturdays.
- Minimal physical effort.
- Must be able to operate computer and telephone continuously.
- Regular regional travel as necessary.
