Patient Service Representative STARS Baker City
About the role
The Patient Service Representative plays a significant part in creating a great experience for patients and their families at the Baker City STARS Clinic within Saint Alphonsus Health System. This Full-Time position supports 11 providers (PT, OT, and SLP) and operates Monday - Friday from 9:00AM - 5:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Check in patients for appointments
- Collect patient co-pays
- Answer telephones
- Take accurate messages
- Schedule appointments
- Check insurance eligibility
- Use EPIC to update required information
- Communicate with patients and families
- Provide superior customer service
- Utilize independent decision-making skills
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- EHR experience a plus
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred
