Patient Service Representative - Pulmonary

Pay

Hourly pay range: $18.38 - $26.65. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Schedule

Full Time: 40 hours per week
Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
No on-call, weekends, or holidays (excluding evenings).

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk coverage under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures.
• Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and greet patients.
• Register new patients in EPIC and schedule laboratory and off-site diagnostic tests requested by physicians.
• Verify insurance eligibility and interpret covered benefits.
• Process patient charges by totaling fees, applying insurance coverage, calculating adjustments, and receiving and recording payments in the computer system.
• Perform clinic set-up and other office support tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Keyboard and computer skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required if selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If using a personal vehicle, maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of three months of previous business office or healthcare-based experience.
• Previous insurance or managed care experience.
• Medical terminology or coding experience.
