About the role
This position greets patients, monitors patient flow, ensures accurate patient information, and performs various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients arriving for their appointments.
- Maintains patient flow and ensures efficient care delivery.
- Completes registration and updates patient information.
- Collects patient financial liability and processes payments.
- Follows financial clearance policies and refers patients needing financial assistance.
- Performs visit closure, including checkout, scheduling, and document provision.
- Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements and guidelines.
- Communicates customer service issues and process improvements.
- Maintains high accuracy and productivity rates.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Works collaboratively with others to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Patient access, insurance verification, billing, or medical assistant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a high-stress environment.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
