About the role

This position greets patients, monitors patient flow, ensures accurate patient information, and performs various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients arriving for their appointments.
  • Maintains patient flow and ensures efficient care delivery.
  • Completes registration and updates patient information.
  • Collects patient financial liability and processes payments.
  • Follows financial clearance policies and refers patients needing financial assistance.
  • Performs visit closure, including checkout, scheduling, and document provision.
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance requirements and guidelines.
  • Communicates customer service issues and process improvements.
  • Maintains high accuracy and productivity rates.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Works collaboratively with others to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Patient access, insurance verification, billing, or medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a high-stress environment.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Pay

$19.80 - $29.70 per hour
