About the Role

As a PMC Patient Service Representative (PSR), you will serve as an essential part of the patient’s experience, acting as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. You will perform tasks such as entering patient demographics, insurance information, and collecting payments during check-in/out or when scheduling appointments. You will also schedule patient appointments for both established and new patients.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and helpfully; answer requests for information.
  • Check in patients, verify and update necessary information, and check patients out.
  • Keep patients informed of the physician’s timetable if waiting time increases.
  • Advise patients regarding financial obligations, including co-payments, deductibles, insurance eligibility, etc.
  • Maintain the lobby in a neat and orderly manner, including keeping magazines current.
  • Maintain and coordinate physicians’ schedules, with thorough knowledge of physician specialties and medical practices.
  • Answer telephones, return calls in a timely manner, take messages, handle requests, and provide accurate information.
  • Handle mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the PMC mission by providing the highest quality of care to patients and the communities served.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years of experience in a medical office setting.

Schedule

Day Shift (Monday through Friday), no weekends or holidays.

Pay

Hourly (Non-Exempt).
